Training Schedule

 
Parent Support Group Leadership Training
 
Leadership training is designed for individuals who are committed to developing, supporting, facilitating or leading a Parents Anonymous® Support Group. Social Service professionals and parents interested in co-leading a Parents Anonymous Support group are invited to attend. This comprehensive two-day training includes, the nuts and bolts of group development, common group dynamics, shared leadership principles, crisis intervention and recruitment techniques to be use for a Parents Anonymous® group.

*Attendance at both training days is required.

 

Stressline Training
 
Parent Stressline training is designed or community members who want to support parents and strengthen families by volunteering for the Parents Anonymous® Parents’ Stressline and the Family Helpline. After completing training, volunteers will be asked to take one four-hour shift each week on the Stressline. Thanks to a call diverter, the Stressline can be staffed from the comfort of the volunteer’s home. Training includes active listening skills, crisis intervention, and use of a statewide resource directory. In order to be certified, volunteers must attend the entire twenty-four hour training.

In addition to the scheduled trainings listed here, Parents Anonymous of NJ staff will come to a site of your choice to provide Stressline training if you recruit a group of 5 volunteers or more.
