DCF Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Grant made it possible for Father Time to expand into three sites in South Jersey, in addition to the original Keansburg group.Father Time South has grown to seven sites and the Keansburg group completed their seventh year.
A true grassroots initiative,  Father Time grew out of a desire of a group of local dads to deepen their relationships with their children.  Father Time in Monmouth County continues thanks to the support of the Pascale Sykes Foundation who share and support our mission of strong families and safe children.
Father Time is a unique combination of support, education and community activity.  It is a testament to the success of the Parents Anonymous® model of Shared Leadershipthe acknowledgment that there can be no long-term positive change without a partnership between parents and professionals.  The family-friendly activities planned by Father Time members show hundreds of families in their communities the importance and the benefits of spending time with children.  Whether its a fishing derby or a barbecue, having fun together counts.
Father Time dads know the importance of a father figure in a childs life cannot be overemphasized.  The leadership skills they learn in their groups become an invaluable asset to their families and their communities.

Dear Corporate/Community Member

Tonight one in three children will go to bed in a home in which his or her father does not live. When dad doesnt get involved, his children are two to three times more likely to:

1.  Engage in drugs, alcohol, violent crimes, and other harmful behaviors

2.  Drop out of school, join a criminal street gang

3.  Live in poverty. Face teenage pregnancy

4.  Struggle with depression and even commit suicide*

This national crisis has obvious impact on your business and our community.  The recent impact of Super Storm Sandy, as you know, has compounded the stresses and challenges of Bayshore residents in immeasurable ways.

Today we are asking for your help, through an annual donation. Father Time, a Monmouth County organization developed by Parents Anonymous; and run through the Keansburg School District has been helping fathers and families in our community for over eight years. This incredibly dedicated group of dads meets every Wednesday night on behalf of fathers, children and indeed the whole community to do something about this problems.

As fathers we know in our gut that successful community programs and activities keep kids off the street and connected to positive role models.Father Time has earned a reputation for dynamic and creative programs and advocacy for families.

Some of our programs open to the local community include:

1.  Weekly parent education and support.

2.  Popular twice yearly family fishing derbies-on the Raritan Bay

3.  Father Daughter Dances

4.  Pictures with Santa/ DJ family dance party

5.  A yearly Dads Retreat

6. Annual family camping trip

Father Time has been recognized by the state of New Jersey as an effective and unique program, our roots run deep in the community, and we are proud of our reputation as a true grass roots community organization. We are very proud that three new chapters of Father Time have started this year in Cumberland and Salem counties-based on our model(www.pa-of-nj.org)

We are appealing to you as corporations, community members, moms, and dads to help us help children and families, advocate for greater father involvement, and address a deep and dangerous community problem. Please consider a generous donation made out to our fiscal agent Parents Anonymous of New Jersey, a (501C3) tax-exempt organization, c/o Father Time in the memo line. You can also make a donation through our easy-to-use PayPal account located on our website www.pa-of-nj.orgIf you would like to know more about Father Time please call me at the number above, or visit our web link at: http://www.keansburg.k12.nj.us/Page/89.
